61 Volume Complete Set Of The Talmud In English Soncino Light Bennet Edition
Description: These volumes measure 7 x 5 inches, this is the convenient lightweight red/maroon edition, Published in 1959.
Each volume has the original Aramaic text of the Talmud and the Hebrew Mishnah, plus the English translation with notes rendered by:
Maurice Simon M.A.,
A. Choen M.A. Ph.D,
Rabbi Dr. S. Daiches,
Rev. DR. Israel W. Slotki M.A. Litt.D.,
H. Freedman B.A. Ph.D.,
A. E. Silverstone M.A. Ph.D.
Under the editorship of the scholar Dr. Isadore Epstein B.A. Ph.D.
Each tractate comes with an informative introduction to the subject at hand.
Condition: The majority of this set is in excellent condition, with that 'new feeling' to them, unused with or without some minor spots or minor blemishes. However I have gone through each volume and noted any anomalies: There are 9 volumes with either noticeable usage on outside spine and/or obvious stain and usage to side pages, or a name or ink-stamp (Only 3 have a name or ink stamp), 1 of the 9 volumes has some leaves that are not attached to the binding towards the middle of the volume, but no missing pages. No internal writing, highlighting, notations etc. or missing pages in any volume of this set. One volume (Gittin 2) has a cover blemish, even though the actual volume is pristine. Tractate Berachot has damage to outside of spine as shown. The majority of the volumes look to be unused albeit with the normal aging for the year published. Extremely hard to find a complete set in one place. I have provided separate photos of each order of the Talmud and some close-ups to give you an idea of the condition. Due to the weight and number of volumes, these books will be carefully packaged and cushioned in 3 separate shipments for the safety of the volumes.
We accept payment by MO, Chk, All major Credit Cards and Paypal.
This listing has pictures of the actual book or books being sold, no stock-photos or photos of similar items, I took a complete set of new pictures especially for this listing and I have carefully described the condition of this specific item that you are looking at. Thank You.
